In wholesale sales, every dealer may not see the same price or follow the same order workflow. Dealer groups, products and commercial policies can require different rules. Clarifying these before development helps reduce pricing and order disputes later.
1. Define dealer approval
Specify application information and who approves new dealers. Applicants and approved dealers do not necessarily need identical permissions. Consider account creation, catalog access and ordering separately. Avoid collecting unnecessary documents or personal data.
2. Keep price groups manageable
Individual exceptions for every dealer can become difficult to maintain. Create understandable groups for similar conditions. If standard, group and campaign prices coexist, define which takes precedence. Authorized staff should be able to explain price changes.
3. Make displayed prices clear
Explain whether taxes, shipping or extra services are included according to your sales terms. Test consistency between product pages and order summaries. State currency and validity conditions clearly. Dealers should understand when the final total is established.
4. Separate an order request from an approved sale
Does submission lead directly to fulfillment or require staff review? If stock, pricing or commercial checks are needed, show the order status clearly. Received, under review and approved should mean the same thing to staff and dealers.
5. Verify inventory and accounting connections
A stock figure on screen does not necessarily mean real-time updates. Confirm the source system, update frequency and integration scope. Do not assume accounting or account-balance connections are already available. Define transferred data and who handles errors.
6. Test realistic scenarios
Compare the same product using two dealer groups. Test campaign prices, unavailable products and orders awaiting approval. Separate test data from actual orders. After price or permission changes, check what dealers see rather than relying only on the administration screen.
