Confirmation mode asks a student to verify the identity shown after face recognition. The student checks the displayed name as well as looking at the camera. Students and staff need to understand the same workflow for this extra step to be useful.
1. Recognition and recording are different steps
A candidate appearing on screen does not mean attendance is complete when confirmation mode is enabled. In BE Soft, the entry record and associated parent notification wait for confirmation. Do not count a trial that only reaches the identity prompt as completed attendance.
2. Students check the displayed information
The student should be able to read the name and review any distinguishing information. Staff should explain the screen during first use. Confirming automatically without looking weakens the purpose of this step. Run several supervised trials with newly enrolled students.
3. Stop when the wrong name appears
Students must not confirm another identity. Test the rejection workflow with staff, then apply a retry or staff verification for the correct person. If the same incorrect candidate repeatedly appears, review photo associations and request support.
4. Check the record when no answer is given
A student may leave the screen, miss the prompt or provide no answer. Do not assume an entry was recorded simply because the camera saw them. Check the panel for a completed event and follow the institution’s verification process for missing records.
5. Measure usability during busy arrivals
The extra interaction can affect queues. Evaluate screen height, button visibility and standing distance during the pilot. Improve guidance and placement rather than skipping identity checks to save time.
6. Define staff intervention
Treat incorrect names, unanswered prompts and device problems separately. Specify who verifies identities, how records are corrected and who contacts support. Confirmation mode is not a guarantee that replaces enrollment and device checks.
Plan confirmation for your institution
Discuss confirmation mode with BE Soft alongside student habits and arrival volume. Verify the correct identity, completed record and suitable parent notification during the pilot.
